Soroptimist International of Sequim is sponsoring a Spring Cleaning/Post Taxes Shredding Event on April 27 th from 9-noon at the Sequim Branch of the Kitsap Bank near Walmart.

In this era of identify theft, personal or sensitive materials need to be shredded instead of thrown in the trash or recycled. Here’s the way to get safely get rid of all the paper accumulated during the year. Your documents will go straight from your car trunk to the shredding truck. No chance for anyone to access any of your personal information.

Simply put the documents in your trunk and go to Kitsap Bank located at 1320 W. Washington. Do not enter from Walmart, but take the traffic circle that goes west and Soroptimist member will direct cars from there. Stay in your car and Soroptimists will move the documents to the shredding truck.

Please limit shredding to 75 pounds—about three banker’s boxes worth. This service is free, but generous donations will help Sequim Soroptimists provide women and girls the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Our mission is to provide women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Soroptimist International of Sequim accomplishes this with scholarships and awards for college and professional and technical education as well as through support for many local organizations whose missions align with ours.

Soroptimist International of Sequim has a 24-year history of holding a Gala Garden Show to help raise the funds that have supported our many philanthropic programs. We continued that tradition even during the pandemic with virtual garden show webinars with gardening advice, and online garden show auctions. Our wonderful vendors and sponsors continued to support us throughout. In 2024 we will return with a live Gala Garden Show the third weekend of March. Look to this webpage and other information outlets for more details.
