Soroptimist International of Sequim provides scholarships, awards and recognition to youth, women and businesses within the community.
LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD: EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR WOMEN
The LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD supports education and training for women. Applications are available From August 1st online at: https://www.soroptimist.org/our-work/live-your-dream-awards/index.html. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2024.
These $1000- $3000 awards are available to women who have financial need and provide the primary financial support for their dependents. To qualify, you must be enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program. If you are selected for this award, the funds will be given to you to use for any purpose that will help you reach your career and educational goals. This award is to help you enter or re-enter the job market, or to further your skills and training to upgrade your employment status.

The Soroptimist International of Sequim Professional-Technical Scholarships are hosted by the Peninsula College Foundation. There are two $2000 scholarships for female students seeking a certificate in any of the Professional Technical programs at Peninsula College.
Applicants must be enrolled at Peninsula College in one of the Professional Technical Programs, with the intention of earning a certificate. This award may be given a second time to the same student provided that student continues to meet all criteria.
Preference is given to a student with financial need. Award funds can be used for tuition, mandatory fees, books, and supplies Scholarship funds to be split over each quarter of the academic year for which it is awarded.

CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Soroptimist International of Sequim awards scholarships for women who are continuing their education. Applicants must be female graduates of Sequim High School OR have a legal address within the Sequim School District. They also need to have completed one year (24 semester credits or 30 quarter units) of post-secondary education and will be continuing their education in the fall of this year. (Enough Running Start courses may qualify a high school graduate to apply for this award.)

HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIPS
These scholarships are chosen in April from the Scholarship Notebooks. Soroptimist International of Sequim awards at least two scholarships to graduating Sequim High School, DVS and OPA senior girls. Preference is given to girls who have faced obstacles and want to continue their education.
Recipients are chosen based on criteria consisting of clearly stated goals, motivation to succeed and achieve those goals, references, extracurricular activities or work, and financial need as set forth in their scholarship notebooks. These awards are paid directly to the student’s choice of institution of learning.
