Medical Loan Closet

Medical Loan Closet – Over 50 Years of Service

The Soroptimist Medical Loan Closet provides free loans of durable medical equipment to the Sequim community. We offer a wide range of items for up to 90 days, with no fees or conditions, except that borrowers must reside within the Sequim School District boundaries. Available equipment includes walkers, wheelchairs, transport chairs, bath transfer seats, shower chairs, bed rails, knee scooters, canes, crutches, upright walkers, and more.

The Closet operates by appointment only. To arrange a loan, return, or donation, or to inquire about available items, please call our automated phone line at 360-504-0231. A volunteer will return your call and schedule an appointment.

A Little More about the MLC:

The Medical Loan Closet (MLC) was established in 1972. For many years, Marcia Beggs dedicated her time and heart to managing the Closet, embodying the spirit of service and community that defines Soroptimist International of Sequim. From its humble beginnings, the MLC loaned over 1,300 items in 2024 alone.

Community involvement plays a vital role in the MLC’s success. Local residents are encouraged to donate clean, gently used medical equipment they no longer need. By donating, you help others access the equipment they may need to improve their health and quality of life. If you have items to donate, please call 360-504-0231 and leave a message.

Funds raised through donations and various fundraising events are used to purchase high-demand equipment and cover the costs associated with renting the facility that houses our equipment. Last fiscal year (July 2024–June 2025), the community generously donated $7,048. The following chart shows the amount of donations over the last five years.
