The LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD application period runs from August 15th to November 15th. This award supports education and training for women.

The 2024-2025 recipients are:

The Live Your Dream Award: Education and Training for Women
The Live Your Dream Award supports education and training for women. Applications are available from August 1st online at: https://www.soroptimist.org/our-work/live-your-dream-awards/index.html. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2025.

The funds are given to the awardee and may be used for any purpose that will help them reach their career and educational goals. This award is to help her enter or re-enter the job market, or to further her skills and training to upgrade her employment status. If you have any questions, you may email LYDA@sisequim.org.

LIVE YOUR DREAM AWARD RECIPIENTS FOR 2025

Jamie Jean Williams

Jamie Jean Williams is the recipient of a $1000 Live Your Dream Award. She is a high school graduate and is supporting and home schooling three children while working as a caregiver to a special needs child. Her goal is certification in Early Childhood Education through Peninsula College this year. Our award funds came just in time for her as a car breakdown might have prevented her from taking a required test in Bremerton.

 


Jordon Calvery 

Jordon Calvery is also the recipient of a $1000 Live Your Dream Award. She is a high school graduate single mom with an 8-year-old child. She is in the Nursing program at Peninsula College with a graduation target of June 2026. Jordon is passionate about nursing and plans to be an RN and to eventually become a Nurse Practitioner.

 


Julia Hendricks

Julia Hendricks received a $4000 Live Your Dream Award and her application was submitted to the Region. Julia is an enrolled member of the Makah tribe. She is working 32 hours a week to support a spouse, two nieces and a great-nephew. Julia has an AA degree and is seeking professional certification training from the International Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). She is currently employed in the field of Ophthalmology, and the certification will give her the opportunity to advance to new positions, receive higher wages and be eligible for other specialties within the field like pediatrics and volunteer clinics.
