The Week Before Linfield
Finals
Twas the week before
finals, and all through the dorm
All the students were studying, just like the norm.
The books were wide open studying with care, in hopes
That Christmas vacation soon would be there.
The professors were nestled all snug in their best,
With visions of hard test contaminating their heads.
And my roommate in her sweatpants, and I in my pajamas,
Had just settled down for a long finals cram.
When last week in our class we heard of registration,
It sure did bring us lots of frustration.
Away to my advisor I ran like a flash,
Hoping that I would not spend any unnecessary cash.
The classes were long and the rooms were cold,
Making us all wish that we werent so old.
More difficult than before our schedules filled up,
All in line and sorted by name,
Now chemistry, Now psychology, Now nursing 106 and 103.
Gone with sociology and statistics, gone with colloquium and chemistry.
And gone with candle in the dark.
I plan to study real hard so I get a good report card.
With everything in and my classes all done,
I decided that a road trip to Sequim sure would be fun.
Hoping my answers were right,
As I drove out of sight,
I shouted out my window to everyone still taking a test,
Happy fdn-term to all and to all get some rest.
